Bulli Trots: The Cream of NSW Country Harness Racing
Bulli is located just north of Wollongong in country New South Wales, about one hour’s drive south from Sydney.
It is home to over 2500 residents and the principal industry in Bulli is coal mining.
The Bulli trots, or harness racing as it is often called, are now run from the nearby Menangle Park, a state-of-the-art harness racing track.
Previous Bulli trots meetings were held at Slacky Flat, a part of Bulli Showgrounds, which are located on the outskirts of the town.
The premier events on the annual Bulli Trots calendar are the Trotters Cup, Linden Huntley Little 2 Y/O Memorial and the Frank Willis Memorial. The Bulli Harness Racing Club conducts meetings on Monday afternoons from September through to May.
The Bulli Trots attracts thousands of local residents as well as a strong influx of visitors from nearby major cities, including Wollongong and Sydney.
